Carter Rockets 3 HR Against Brooklyn Friday, April 12th , 2002 Ottawa catcher Gary Carter led the Mounties to a triumph, 11-2, over the Brooklyn Royal Giants, crushing three home runs. "He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Ottawa skipper Daniel Makonnen. Indeed, Carter put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 3 runs and 6 RBIs. "I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Carter said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em." Gary Carter walked in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Orel Hershiser in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Nap Rucker in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Frank Knauss in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th. At present, Carter is batting .257 and has collected 4 home runs, 11 RBIs, .350 OBP and scored 5 runs. |
