AL Star of the Week Chosen Monday, April 22nd , 2002 When it came to hitting the baseball, Ted Williams was in a class by himself in the American League this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding left fielder for Memphis tagged opposing pitchers for a .400 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award.
