Injury Sidelines Thon for Season Monday, April 16th , 2001 Dickie Thon had to wait several agonizing days to find out his diagnosis after suffering shoulder inflammation on 04/14/2001. Today he received word from the Jersey City doctor that he would be out the rest of the year. Team officials called it a huge setback but something they would have to overcome. This season, Thon has delivered 1 hit in 14 at-bats for a .071 average with no home runs. He is getting on base at a .176 clip and his totals also include 2 RBIs and no runs scored.
