Red-Hot Bat: Clark Collects Cycle
Monday, April 23rd , 2001
Jerald Clark accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball when he hit for the cycle against the Rochester Hustlers in the 17-8 Vancouver Beavers win at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Afterward, Clark acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Beavers win.
"Maybe one day I'll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game," Clark said.
On his historic day, he went 4-for-5 with 5 RBI and 3 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the history books.
Jerald Clark flied out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off John Foster in the 6th, hit a three-run double in the 6th and tripled in the 8th.
