Cain Gets 5 Hits Saturday, April 28th , 2001 Today at Doubleday Field, the Austin Black Senators fell to the Hudson Valley Renegades despite a splendid performance by center fielder Lorenzo Cain. Cain had an exceptional day at the plate, tagging Renegades pitching for 5 base hits, but it was not enough for Austin to come away with the win. Hudson Valley whipped Austin by a score of 7-5. Lorenzo Cain hit a solo-shot off Mike Fornieles in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, flied out in the 9th and singled in the 11th. This season, Cain is swinging the bat at a .338 rate with 26 hits in 77 at-bats. To date he has hit 2 home runs, scored 10 runs and driven in 6. |
