Allison Smacks 3 Out of the Park
Monday, April 30th , 2001
Edmonton Trappers center fielder Bob Allison sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.
Prior to the start of today's contest with the Albuquerque Isotopes, Allison told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times.
"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Allison pushed the Trappers past the Isotopes, 12-8. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Allison told reporters after the game.
Bob Allison hit a solo-shot off Claude Osteen in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Bob Chipman in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Don Aase in the 9th.
Currently Allison is batting .246 with 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
