Bad Behavior Costs Reccius and Poffenberger Sunday, May 13th , 2001 John Reccius of Troy and Boots Poffenberger of Austin were the main participants in a recent bench-clearing brawl and today the league handed out its punishment. Reccius will have to miss 5 games for his part in the brawl, while Poffenberger was given 11 games. League officials announced their suspensions today. Looking at his stats this year, Reccius has compiled a .185 batting average, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 5 runs. He has played in 27 games and scored 8 runs. This year, Poffenberger has gone 2-2 with an ERA of 3.80 and has 36 strikeouts in 45 innings. |
