Isotopes Jones Smacks 5 Hits Friday, May 25th , 2001 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Tracy Jones -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Parkview Field and paced the 13-7 Isotopes win over the Fort Wayne Daisies. After his dynamite batting performance, the Albuquerque left fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Tracy Jones doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Roger Craig in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Don Ferrarese in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Owens in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. During the current season Jones is batting at a .417 clip with 5 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has played in 28 games and scored 14 times. |
