Beckwith Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 20 Saturday, June 16th , 2001 The Vancouver Beavers clamped down on John Beckwith and put a stop to his hit streak. He went without a hit, ending the run at 20 straight games, but it didn't keep the Solons from winning. Sacramento downed the Beavers, 3-1. "It was bound to happen," Beckwith said with a shrug after the game. Currently Beckwith is hitting .300 and has collected 2 home runs, 24 RBIs and scored 30 times, while playing in 57 games. |
