Bacharach Giants Not Competitive in 7-0 Loss to Syracuse Friday, June 29th , 2001 Gary Lucas bent a little, but he didn't break against the Atlantic City Bacharach Giants. The Syracuse Sky Chiefs pitcher hurled a 5-hit, 7-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 1 walk and tallying 10 strikeouts. "Gary is good at getting out of jams," Sky Chiefs manager Ray Meiners told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you." This year, Lucas has compiled a 5-2 record with a 2.49 ERA. |
