Solons Announce González Will Retire Tuesday, July 10th , 2001 Mike A González is stepping away from the game of baseball at the end of the season. The Sacramento Solons player gave a brief explanation to reporters this afternoon. "It's time to step away from the game and work on phase two of my life - world domination," the 39-year-old joked. González wisecracked for several minutes while reminiscing about high and low points of his career. At the end of the session, González sent a personal message. "I truly thank all you fans." |
