Gentry Electric in 4-0 Albuquerque Win Saturday, July 14th , 2001 Albuquerque hurler Rufe Gentry put on quite a show, as he blitzed the Syracuse Sky Chiefs with a 4-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 6 hits with 11 strikeouts and 2 walks to pick up the win. "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball," Syracuse manager Ray Meiners told reporters after the game. This season, Gentry has fanned 65 in 73 innings and collected a 5-4 record with a 4.32 ERA. |
