Isotopes Listless in 6-0 Loss to Black Wolf
Friday, July 20th , 2001
Danny Jackson of the Madison Black Wolf was on top of his game.

The 29-year-old tantalized the Albuquerque Isotopes with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 6-0.

"He had the changeup working," Albuquerque manager Justin Martin said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The Madison hurler had 7 strikeouts, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 6 hits in his complete-game effort.

Jackson told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

This year in 11 starts, Jackson has recorded 4 wins and absorbed 4 losses. He has pitched 68.1 innings, allowed 75 hits, struck out 54 and has a 4.61 ERA.
