Benintendi Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Tuesday, July 24th , 2001 It was a parade of hits for Andrew Benintendi of the Tulsa Drillers at Blues Stadium 1942. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Benintendi finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Drillers to a win, 7-5. "Benintendi was really good and we were really bad," groaned Redhawks manager Phil Darling. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Andrew Benintendi hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. This year, Benintendi has hit at a .341 clip with 78 hits, 11 home runs, 57 RBIs and 51 runs scored. |
