Sounds Listless in 7-0 Loss to Industriales
Friday, July 27th , 2001
Don Wilson of the Havana Industriales was on top of his game.

The 24-year-old tantalized the Nashville Sounds with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 7-0.

"He had the changeup working," Nashville manager Justin Marish said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The Havana hurler had 6 strikeouts, gave up 2 walks and surrendered 6 hits in his complete-game effort.

Wilson told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

This season, Wilson has crafted a 8-5 mark with a 4.02 ERA in 130 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .241 against him and he has 122 strikeouts.
