Drillers Move on to Round 2 Friday, August 17th , 2001 The Tulsa Drillers had all facets of their game going and have swept the Edmonton Trappers in the Round 1. Tulsa now heads off to the Round 2, after wrapping up the series with a 12-3 win. Joe Cunningham was named MVP, as he put up a .467 batting average, with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 6 runs. The Tulsa Drillers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Syracuse Sky Chiefs - Jersey City Skeeters series. Syracuse leads the series 2 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
