Sky Chiefs Move on to Round 2 Saturday, August 18th , 2001 The Syracuse Sky Chiefs are one step closer to the Round 3. The club prevailed 8-1 at NBT Bank Park tonight to eliminate the Jersey City Skeeters and advance to the Round 2. The Sky Chiefs won the series by a 4-1 margin, with right fielder and series MVP José Guillén leading the way. "I'm proud of all the guys," Guillén said. "This was a team effort, not just me." The Syracuse Sky Chiefs will play against the Tulsa Drillers in the next round. Tulsa won their series against the Edmonton Trappers 4 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
