Tuesday, August 28th , 2001
The Austin Black Senators put together a solid effort in ousting the Montgomery Biscuits to advance to the Round 3.
Austin won the final game by a 7-1 count and captured the Round 2 4-1.
Elmer Tutwiler led the way for Austin, turning in a strong performance on the mound.
"I just tried to make pitches and get outs, I guess it worked out," said Tutwiler, who was named series MVP.
The MVP had a 0.00 ERA over 5 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.
The Austin Black Senators don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Syracuse Sky Chiefs - Tulsa Drillers series. Syracuse leads the series 3 games to 1. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
