AA Reliever of the Year Award Winner Named Thursday, September 20th , 2001
At the age of 22, George Gillpatrick says he still has a lot to learn about life in WBL Double A.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Albuquerque Isotopes reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2001 WBL Double A Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the The United States native said.
For the season, Gillpatrick had 15 saves in 34 relief appearances, which totaled 42.2. He fanned 35 betters, while walking 10 and put up a record of 7-5 to go with his 3.16 ERA.
