Williams Selected AA's Premier Player

Cy Williams took WBL Double A by storm this year, and he did it all at the age of 26.
For his spectacular campaign, the Albuquerque Isotopes star has been named the 2001 WBL Double A Most Valuable Player Award recipient.
"To be considered amongst the best in the league is overwhelming," said the left fielder.
On the season he compiled a .306 batting average to go with a .361 on-base percentage. The native of Wadena, Minnesota also added 13 doubles, 1 triple, 44 home runs, 107 RBIs and 74 runs scored.
He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 20. Lorenzo Cain of the Austin Black Senators finished second in voting with 9 first place votes, while Eric MacKenzie of the Hudson Valley Renegades finished third.
