Trojans Advance to Round 3 Sunday, August 20th , 2000 The Troy Trojans clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the Austin Black Senators room was filled with despair and sadness after the Round 2 concluded. "Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Sean Burroughs, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance. Troy won the final game by a 5-4 count at Clark Field and the series 4-2. Austin manager Mike Lohrke was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series. "They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said. For the series, Burroughs hit .345 with a .387 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Troy Trojans don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Albuquerque Isotopes - Fort Wayne Daisies series. Fort Wayne leads the series 3 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes. |
