Daisies Star Wins 2000 Pitcher of the Year Award Wednesday, September 13th , 2000 The WBL AA made the official announcement today. The 2000 WBL AA Pitcher of the Year Award has gone to Jeremy Sowers of Fort Wayne. He had a superlative season, chalking up a 13-4 won-lost mark with an impressive 3.05 ERA. Sowers logged 20 starts, threw 133 innings, yielded 130 hits, struck out 94 and held the opposition to a .252 batting average. He received 20 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Joe Nuxhall of the Albuquerque Isotopes finished second in voting, while Larry Dierker of the Albuquerque Isotopes finished third.
