One Run Enough for Long Beach Wednesday, September 13th , 2000 Edgar E Smith of the Long Beach White Sox humiliated the Richmond Flying Squirrels at Blair Field today, spinning a complete game shutout and holding the visitors to 4 hits. "He stayed aggressive and his ball was really moving," said Richmond manager Nate Hoffman, after the game. Smith whiffed 4 and walked 2 in the 1-0 win. "If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Smith said. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
