Hitting Streak Still Alive for Quentin Wednesday, June 28th , 2000 Carlos Quentin of the Biloxi Shuckers tagged 3 hits in today's 8-5 loss to the Green Bay Bullfrogs at Big Top Stadium to run his hitting streak to 20 straight games. "I realize it's unlikely to have a 20-game streak and not have a couple losses mixed in," he said later. "But it still takes the fun out of it." Carlos Quentin walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Tommy John in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Quentin is hitting .386, produced 58 RBIs and 36 home runs, scored 47 times and gotten on base at a .483 rate. |
