Ross Rips 3 HR Saturday, July 1st , 2000 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Comets-Black Pirates game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Kenosha left fielder Chet Ross thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Kenosha to a 13-2 win over Galveston. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Ross said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Ross was 3-for-5 on the day with 4 runs batted in. Chet Ross flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Dave Sisler in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Leo Mangum in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Kyle Farnsworth in the 8th. A look at his current stats shows Ross with a .310 average, 29 home runs, 52 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has played in 43 games. |
