Gloves Found, Longoria Rejoices Sunday, July 16th , 2000 A while back we brought you the story of the poor Buffalo Bison's third baseman who was honestly devastated by the loss of his lucky college batting gloves. Today, the gloves suddenly turned up in the strangest of places. Said teammate, Lance Berkman, "I found them in my underwear drawer...seriously. As soon as I found them, I got them back to Evan. I didn't even ask for a finder's fee and besides, I couldn't wait to get rid of them - they really stank." No details on how the gloves got in Berkman's underwear drawer and perhaps that is for the best. For his part, Evan Longoria was ecstatic. Telling the Cleveland Bulletin, "I put them on right away - it felt so good to have them back. I can't wait to get back out there and face pitching again with these on." |
