July's Best Rookie Named by ARN Tuesday, August 1st , 2000 Youngster Charlie Spikes emerged as the latest WBL Rook National Rookie of the Month today. The young man from Kokomo deserved the honor, batting .356 with 19 home runs and 34 RBI. Is the month of July a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke? We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Spikes enjoy the limelight. Thus far this season Spikes has hit .351 with 52 home runs, 99 RBIs and scored 73 times. |
