Benintendi Slams 3 Deep for Chugiak-Eagle River Monday, August 14th , 2000 The "hardest feat in sports" debate is a never-ending one with no correct answer, but hitting three home runs is certainly in the conversation. That's exactly what Andrew Benintendi did today at Bozeman Ballpark, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 8-5. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Benintendi said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks left fielder blistered the Bozeman Bucks for 3 hits, batted in 3 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Bozeman manager Jorge Mendez said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Andrew Benintendi hit a solo-shot off Bill Posedel in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Bill Posedel in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Tex Clevenger in the 9th. This season in 81 games Benintendi is batting .310 with 38 home runs, 72 RBIs and has scored 84 times. |
