Nelson Whacks 3 out of the Park for Kokomo

In a powerful performance that left the fans at Jerry Uht Park buzzing, Kokomo Jackrabbits first baseman Rocky Nelson blasted a trio of home runs en route to a 8-0 win over the Erie Blackbirds.
"Everything was clicking," Nelson told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them."
Nelson shined brilliantly in the win, with 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Jackrabbits manager Kyle Thomson said. "Rocky played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game."
Rocky Nelson hit a solo-shot off George Winter in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off George Winter in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Eric Plunk in the 5th, struck out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
This season Nelson is swinging the bat at a .273 rate with 70 hits in 256 at-bats. To date he has hit 31 home runs, scored 52 runs and driven in 59.
