Toros Not Competitive in 6-0 Loss to Biloxi
Saturday, August 19th , 2000
Today was Cal Eldred's turn in the rotation for the Biloxi Shuckers and he made the most of it, shutting out the Camagüey Toros on 2 hits.
The 24-year-old right-hander led the Shuckers to an easy 6-0 victory, allowing no walks and tallying 16 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Camagüey manager Scott Koziol said. "Eldred certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
So far this season Eldred has a 7-8 record with a 5.00 ERA.
