Mustangs Not Competitive in 6-0 Loss to Bozeman
Monday, August 21st , 2000
Mickey Mahler of the Bozeman Bucks spun his magic on the Penn Yan Mustangs today. He blanked them 6-0 on 2 hits, registering 9 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Mahler said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Bozeman skipper Jorge Mendez said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Mickey pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
So far this season Mahler has a record of 3-4 with 119 strikeouts and 26 walks in 94.1 innings and a 5.25 ERA.
