Toros Plugged by Armstrong, Magicians, 6-0
Friday, August 25th , 2000
Jack Armstrong of the Roanoke Magicians spun his magic on the Camagüey Toros today. He blanked them 6-0 on 2 hits, registering 12 strikeouts and no walks.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Armstrong said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Roanoke skipper Rob Stech said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Jack pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
This season Armstrong has a 6-9 record with a 6.79 ERA.
