The St. Paul Colored Gophers are trying to accomplish something that's never been done before - hosting a World Series parade in the city of St. Paul.
They've taken the big first step, winning the WBL Rook National INDY RN - West title.
"We want to win a championship, that's our ultimate goal and something our franchise deserves," said left fielder Glenallen Hill. "Our coaches, GM and ownership have been behind us, it's time to make that effort pay off."
The club's record sits at 72-32 and it is the 1st time they've won the division title.
Team manager Nick Frias said it will be the "accomplishment of a lifetime" if he can lead the team to a championship.
"It's what we've been working towards for so long," he said.
