Red Nelson of the Corpus Christi Hooks spun his magic on the Camagüey Toros today. He blanked them 13-0 on 2 hits, registering 10 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Nelson said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, Corpus Christi skipper Mike Hagee said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Red pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
