ARA's Star Player Named Monday, September 11th , 2000 27-year-old Carlos Quentin sent shock waves through WBL Rook Indy last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the WBL Rook American Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Quentin made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .478 average, 11 hits in 23 at-bats, 5 home runs and 12 runs batted in. Where the Biloxi Shuckers left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Quentin certainly made his mark last week. Quentin is presently hitting at a .339 pace with 80 home runs, 155 RBIs and has scored 115 times. |
