Bell Hits for the Cycle Sunday, April 8th , 2001 Gus Bell was at the front of a Elefantes hit parade at Estadio 5 de Septiembre. The center fielder finished 5-for-5 and hit for the cycle as Cienfuegos triumphed, 12-7, over the Boston Pilgrims. "Gus was putting on a real clinic out there," Cienfuegos manager Kyle Gates said, following the game. Bell finished the game with 6 runs batted in and had 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run. Gus Bell hit an RBI triple in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Al Spalding in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th and singled in the 7th. |
