Puckett Bashes 5 Base Hits Monday, April 23rd , 2001 No matter what the Kenosha Comets threw him, Kirby Puckett hit it. The 25-year-old Corpus Christi Hooks center fielder racked up 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Simmons Field and led the Hooks to a win, 12-5. Kirby Puckett singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. For the season, Puckett is currently batting .352 with no home runs and 7 RBIs. In 13 games he has reached base at a .375 rate and scored 9 runs to date. |
