Injury Shuts Down McDermott for Season Thursday, May 17th , 2001 Mickey McDermott has to call it a season. The Pine Bluff Judges starting pitcher learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 05/13/2001 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a torn rotator cuff and stated that he would not be able to play for 10 months. The team will likely place McDermott on the injured list today. Checking out his stats for the season, McDermott has racked up no wins and 2 losses in 8 starts, posted a 7.36 ERA, and struck out 27 batters in 25.2 innings. |
