Grudzielanek 5-for-5 Against Cienfuegos Tuesday, June 19th , 2001 No matter what the Cienfuegos Elefantes threw at him, Mark Grudzielanek hit it. He easily handled Elefantes pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Yankees triumph, 11-4, at McCoy Stadium. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of Grudzielanek's quip, Elefantes skipper Kyle Gates said he "would take him up on that next time." Mark Grudzielanek singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Carlton Loewer in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
