Henderson and Smith Brawl, League Suspends Them Wednesday, July 4th , 2001 Gunnar Henderson of the Philadelphia Pythians and Hilton Smith of the Rockford Peaches will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 3 and 6 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Pythians-Peaches game at Eck Stadium. Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Henderson and Smith will begin serving them soon. To date this year, Henderson is batting .255 with 6 home runs. On his stats sheet for the year Smith shows a 3-11 record, 18 starts, 80 innings, 65 strikeouts and a 7.65 ERA. |
