Mud Hens Get One to Win Tuesday, July 10th , 2001 Toledo Mud Hens pitcher Jim Owens really got it done at Fifth Third Ballpark in a 1-0 shutout victory over the Philadelphia Pythians, shutting them down on 3 hits. "It was just one of those games where everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Owens said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them." The 26-year-old issued 1 walk and had 5 strikeouts in the Mud Hens win. For the season, Owens has earned no saves, worked 47 innings, fanned 35 hitters and recorded a 2.68 ERA. He has held opposing teams to a .207 batting average. |
