Injury Brings Season to End for Lewis Thursday, July 19th , 2001 "Not what I wanted to hear," said Durham's Darren Lewis to reporters this afternoon, as he revealed that the injury he sustained on 07/18/2001 would force him to miss the rest of the season. "The doctor made it clear," Lewis said. "There's no chance for me -- none at all -- to come back this year. That's the last thing I wanted to hear." Lewis has been out of action since he suffered a broken kneecap. This year, Lewis is batting .280 with no home runs. |
