Wednesday, August 1st , 2001
A season's worth of hard work has culminated in a division championship for the Albany Diamond Dogs.
The club officially clinched its spot atop the WBL-A A-D1 today, with plenty of games to spare.
"It feels good to get it wrapped up early and now be able to set ourselves up for the playoffs," said starting pitcher Dustin McGowan.
The club currently has a 68-36 record and this is their 1st division championship.
"We want to bring the 1st World Series to Albany," said Jared Russom. "We think we've got what it takes to be the best in WBL A Ball."
