Phoenix Firebirds Guaranteed Top Spot in WBL-A A-D3 Friday, August 10th , 2001 It's a banner year for the Phoenix Firebirds, they have won the WBL-A A-D3. "There's so much pride in our room and on our roster, anything but a division title wouldn't have been acceptable," said starting pitcher Tom Morgan. "In the playoffs we'll just have to take it one day at a time and keep battling." The Firebirds this year have battled to a 62-50 mark, which is good for the club's 1st WBL-A A-D3 title. "I'm extremely proud of my players and look forward to seeing what we can do in the postseason," said manager Chris Schmid. |
