WBL-A A-D2 Champions Crowned Saturday, August 11th , 2001 Let loose, Corpus Christi fans, your team has won the WBL-A A-D2. The Corpus Christi Hooks have officially captured the crown, the 1st in franchise history. "We've got a team that can do it all and we think do it just as well as anyone in the league," said starting pitcher Cole De Vries. "I hope no one is taking us lightly once the playoffs start." Certainly the team's division crown will garner them a fair bit of respect, as the 70-43 record puts the club in position for the franchise's 1st WBL A Ball championship. "You never get tired of being in the playoffs," said manager Jeremy Prance. "This is what you play for." |
