Oaks Win Division Series
Sunday, August 19th , 2001
The Staten Island Yankees were simply overmatched by the Oakland Oaks in the Division Series.
The end result was a sweep, as Oakland has cruised to the League Championship Series, with the final win coming at McCoy Stadium by a score of 3-0.
"We're clicking and running on all cylinders at the moment," said Charlie Reilly, who was named MVP of the Division Series. "We're a dangerous team when we play like this."
For the series, Reilly hit .222 with a .300 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Oakland Oaks don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Roanake Black Cardinals - Albany Diamond Dogs series. Roanake leads the series 2 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
