Hurst Out 13 Months Monday, August 27th , 2001 Bruce Hurst will have to wait a while longer. The Roanake starting pitcher was informed this afternoon that he will miss another 13 months with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. The injury has kept him off the field since 08/24/2001. Though Hurst had hoped to return soon, he has no choice but to be patient. "Gotta stay focused," he said. "Gotta stay positive." This year, Hurst has made 17 starts, thrown 84.1 innings, fanned 68 batters and walked 40. His won-lost record is 4-6 with a 4.70 ERA. |
