Sea Lions Lose to Gothams in Walk Off
Polo Grounds was the site of quite a ballgame.

Starting pitcher Christy Mathewson was a major factor in the 4-2 New York Gothams triumph over the San Francisco Sea Lions. New York reliever Mike Norris picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Rod Beck absorbed the loss.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with New York trailing 2-1, John Kerins hit a slider from Rod Beck for a 3-run home run, giving the Gothams the walk-off win.

"I like what I saw today," said New York manager Daniel Makonnen, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

New York now has a record of 58-46 with the win.
