Red Sox Beaten By Spiders, 4-1
|
The Cleveland Spiders picked up a win at League Park, dropping the Memphis Red Sox, 4-1. Bill Steen, who is tied for 6th in the AL in quality starts with 12, was the difference-maker. The Cleveland win streak is now 4 games.
The Spiders got a big at-bat from right fielder Larry Doby. For the game, Doby went 1 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Cleveland a 4-1 lead.
"Glad to go home with a win," said Doby.
