The home crowd had a good time watching the Memphis Red Sox and New York Black Yankees get after it.

Black Yankees right fielder Babe Ruth left his imprint on his team's 7-1 win over the Memphis Red Sox. Ruth was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for New York in the contest. The winning pitcher was Andy Pettitte. He tossed 100 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits.

Early in the game, Ruth had a 3-run home run for New York. It was his 55th home run of the season and put the Black Yankees on top, 3-0.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said New York manager Daniel Makonnen.

With the victory, the Black Yankees upped their record to 66-54.
